Weeks in Review

Sigh, I haven't posted in awhile, and must update:)

So let's begin with the week of July 17th in my New York saga.

Thursday of that week was a lot of fun! After work, I met Patrick at Crate and Barrel for a wine and cheese. Can I just say that I am currently in love with pecorino cheese and adoring tasty red wine? Sigh, it was wonderful. Elena met up with us, and we went to a tasty Cuban restaurant. Too bad that there was some rude hobo there saying expletives and being impatient. Later on that night, kim, her coworker, Genny my coworker, her friend and I went to Webster Hall! Actually, it was sorta a boring night there because there were old and unattractive men and not so good reggae. Went home with my reggae needs unfulfilled, lol. But Kim's coworker is so nice, and and he drove each of us home (which entailed driving to Columbia, Brooklyn, and NJ before driving himself back to Queens).

On Friday, Kim and I proceeded to eat at a tasty vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown. I was thinking about going to happy hour, but I decided not to.

On Saturday, I went to New Haven, but all of my friends were gone, tears! I went to New Haven specifically to apartment shop though. I looked at the Taft and Liberty apartments. Both are the luxury I need with 24 hour doormen and full concierge:) No w/d in the apartment, but there is a laundry room on the premises. In the end, the Taft was my choice because of the free rent promotion and the fact that the room wasn't oddly shaped like the Liberty's rooms. So I'm all set for downtown new haven living! Just need to sign the lease, and I will move in! After my busy day of apartment shopping, I decided to go real shopping. I ended up carrying a Jcrew bag to the Boyz II Men concert downtown and felt a lil awkward. Oh well. The concert was alright.

I spent Saturday night in New Haven, but went back to NYC early in the morning! I decided that I would check out SoHo, and there was also a street fair! Yippee, can we say lemonade and corn cakes! I also went to Dean and Deluca and bought a cookie. It was a lazy Sunday, but I had a good time.

This brings us to the week of the 24th.

On Tuesday, I went to my first baseball game after work! Mets versus the chicago team. It was soo cool, and NRDC was like Daddy Warbucks and not only paid for the tickets, but also gave each intern $20 spending cash:) How nice! The game was good, really intriguing! But the Mets lost.

On Thursday, Sherry and I went out to eat at a Japanese restaurant for lunch! It was really good! We also went to the intern happy hour after work. I then prepared myself for going to Lotus. Kim and I found a website called Club Planet that will let us get on guestlists for clubs so that we can get in for free! Yay, so we thought that Lotus would be oh so exclusive, so we really dressed to impress. I wore my gorgeous Stuart Weitzmans that are regularly $385, but I bought them at NR for around $50, and Eva Longoria wore them to a movie premiere! So I was looking STUNNING. But unfortunately, the shoes were painful, like only for red carpet soirees. Kim and I had to call a cab to get to the lounge. And I had to keep sitting down in the lounge. Well, whatever. Lotus did not have a tough door, and we got in with free drink passes. Kim and I surveyed the lounge, and saw that it was all thirty somethings. Niceley dressed, but not hot thirty somethings. Darn. And the free drink passes were only for red or white wine or gin or vodka. No Strawberry Mojitos. I was sad. But that's ok, we had red wine, and found a place to sit and "lounge". The place looked sooo nice, but the music was so terrible, it made me ill. Like, they were playing India Arie and Total. I mean, these are not songs to dance to. So, it's a gorgeous place, but they didn't have good music and no beautiful people (except for Kim and I) that night.

Friday night was much better:) Kim and I went to Happy Hour with my coworkers (mostly interns and a couple of program assistants and Matt). It was a place called the Metro Bar. Kim and I were starving, so we ordered some food, and a glass of white wine. It was seriously the best wine that we ever tasted! It was so sweet and good, I was so elated! Rieslen or something. Then, everyone started trickling out. Matt wanted to stay, and Kim and I had nothing to do. So we met up with Larry the lawyer from my office, and we went to No Idea, the usual place. We finally found out *why* Matt likes this place with the annoying rock music: they give more booze for your buck. Larry the lawyer, Matt, Kim and I had very interesting, intellectual conversations. It was a lot of fun talking to larry because he is so knowledgeable on a variety of subjects.I especially liked when Matt and I arm wrestled and the under the table action, hahaha. Joking. I was quite amused by it, LOL.

Saturday ended up being a lot of fun too! I went with Juliann and Petra, my coworkers, to the Native American festival in Queens! Oh, it was an all day affair! We met in Flushing, which is like Chinatown number 2 of New York, lol! Then, we proceeded to take a car to the farm. We were able to hold little ducklings and pet some cute little animals, yay! We were able to celebrate my culture, I even had a buffalo burger! I bought a cute mirror for my new apartment too.
Later on that night, Kim, Raj, Patrick and I went to SOBs. It was such a good club, good music, live music with dancers too! it was a good night, despite the fact that I lost my Wachovia card, boo. We also went to a french cafe afterwards and had a tasty meal.

Sunday, I went back to New Haven, ignored Confused Sheep during church profusely, and ran some errands.

Now, we move to last week, the week of the 30th.

Tuesday, I was sick, so I skipped work. But then I ended up having a good day out! I went to a really good pan asian restaurant in BK called Chance, and I went to Century 21 and the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. I also had a date with a hot personal trainer too! It's too bad that he's 27 and still in college and also sorta financially unstable. Also, he wants to stay in school til he's 40 and doesn't mind being poor throughout the process. Not what I'm looking for right now! Send the investment bankers my way!

Wednesday, Kim came to my neck of the woods after work! We went to a tasty Indian restaurant, where the staff had a big fight in the back, ooh. We were supposed to go out, but we just ended up chilling and talking at Baskin Robbins til 12:30 AM.

Thursday, Kim and I went to the hotspot, the China Club! We also went to lil Italy too. Good times, good times:)

Friday, Kim and I went to a Brooklyn Cyclones baseball game in Coney Island. It was a sorta boring game, so Kim and I had to amuse ourselves with interesting conversation. I just wish that people would see what's right in front of them, if you know what I mean.

And Saturday, I moved out of brooklyn. I saw the girl I subleted from, Jennifer Bruno from Ridgefield, CT. She is one psycho. It was a bad situation, and I don't feel like going into the horrid details. But I bitched her out over the phone. And when I saw her on Saturday, she was visibly shaking. Good enough for her.

Later, Erin and I went to Hula Hanks and chilled with Trina and Rochelle. Interesting experience.

Right now, I'm tired of ppl's bullshit, and I am not afraid to call their asses out if they fuck up. I am NOT the person to fuck with.
