I Saw a Pimp on a Street Corner...
A lot has happened since my last post! Which is good, cuz then my posts won't be just mindless drivel about how I went to the store and bought a gallon of milk (see, it's all about the grocery store addiction).
The highlight of my day on Sunday was a tea hosted by the Theta Epsilon Omega Chapter of my sorority. It was absolutely adorable! I was able to meet a lot of the sorors in the chapter, which truly made my day. Everyone was so sweet and welcoming. I will definitely be active in this chapter. I even met one of Nu Chi's own- Nicole Gee! She's recently gotten married, and she has a new career as a pharmacist.
Yesterday was an interesting day. I had to wake up early and go to work (boo), and my supervisor kicked me off the computer! I mean, come on, I was doing some really important stuff (ie updating my profile on facebook, lol). Luckily, Daniela was there to save me from boredom. I basically chatted the morning away, hehe. After I had lunch, I was extremely bored without computer access. So, I was forced to actually do my OB homework. Of course, I could only concentrate for 30 minutes before I started to doze off. And I must admit, I was thinking a couple of strange thoughts before I truly started to slumber. So I was quite startled when I was tapped on the shoulder (just as these crazy thoughts were actually starting to formulate into somewhat coherent dreams). To my surprise, it was Alex, the computer analyst that came to the library last week to fix the network problems. Of course I was wide awake when he asked me out to coffee! I merrily wrote down my cell and email address. So, I decided to ask the library coworkers about this mystery man. Unfortunately, at that time, I thought that his name was Alan, lol. Let me tell you, I went to Echlin hall to say hi to this guy, and boy was I surprised when I poked my head into the office of Alan MacDougal. It was such an embarrassing moment. But luckily I cleared all of this up, because Alex left a voice message and an email. So after I finished my homework, he took me out to Cosi in Downtown New Haven. It was cute. He's an aspiring musician, and he likes philosophy. And he didn't ask to use my bathroom and come back to my apartment, lol. Yay. So ya'll will probably hear about him again.
After the hot coffee break, I went back to my apartment to be surprised by the return of my roommate! Oh I was lonely for the past few days (despite the fact that I was quite entertained). Oh Vanessa, don't ever leave me again, lol. So we spent our reunion doing our SPSS homework. I gotta tell you, I was tired and getting pissed cuz I couldn't say the word "statistically" correctly. I kept saying statically or stakistically. I was really tired!
For your information, I would just like to say that it is really difficult and annoying that my only source of estrogen is through a stupid little patch placed on my abdomen on Mondays and Thursdays. I've felt myself grow cold, hardened to the problems of the world (as Katie Castle would say). I've lost my ability to feel sympathy for people or to even empathize with the problems surfacing in their lives. Also, I find myself having different reactions to situations. Like, I used to feel hurt and saddened by certain situations, but now I just get pissed off. My reaction is usually anger and annoyance, so don't rub me the wrong way, lol. With that in mind, if I say anything mean to you, just remember that it's the lack of estrogen talking.
Oh, and Vanessa wanted me to tell you all a little story. A couple of days ago, we were watching some VH1 special about Lil Jon and his pimp cane and pimp cup. We thought, oh shit, it would be so cool to see a pimp in person with their pimp clothing! Well, the next day, on our way downtown, we actually saw a real pimp! He was on his cell, dressed in an olive colored pimp suit. He even had a pimp hat with a feather in it! He was just there, on the street corner, probably finalizing his pimp deals. I was so amazed, I just kept staring at him. Vanessa had to tell me to stop, cuz she thought that we'd get shot. But I told her that we didn't have to worry about the pimp, he's cool.
Next up: Is Alisha going out with people because she actually likes them, or cuz she just wants a free meal???
