31 Flavors

The weekend was quite memorable. Vanessa and I were set on making it "Discover New Haven" weekend, so we commenced the festivities by going outlet shopping. Oh the joys of outlet shopping in CT. It's no Leesburg outlets by far, but it definitely whet my palate and satisfied my cravings for the moment. Among the amazing deals was a cute RL hoodie for $22 (originally $165)! Vanessa and I looked for engagement rings at Zale's too, but I think I was getting ahead of myself, lol. Then we decided to go to Hamden to check out the Home Goods store. Home Goods is like the homemaker's hot spot, with all of its quirky yet useful household items. I ended up getting my sweet little Chestnut's Christmas present there! He'll be living large with his sofa that folds out into a sofa bed! It is the cutest thing in the world, I'll have to take pics of him in it over Christmas break, hehe.

Friday night consisted of me banging my knee against my dresser (don't ask) and attempting to soothe myself with Totoro the Miyazaki movie and painkillers (which surely didn't help). Then, I was plagued with nightmares that basically were about a certain person:

Boy- I don't think that I can date you because, well, you just aren't goody goody enough for me
Me- you've gotta be fucking kidding me
Boy- I rest my case.

I was quite disturbed by this dream sequence, and consequently decided to wallow in my sadness for the rest of the morning. Not really. But Vanessa and I did go Discover New Haven with Lauren and Derek on Saturday. Imagine my delight when I saw the Peabody Museum was right next to the Molecular Biology building! Imagine my sheer joy when I saw a familiar car parked right in front of the building, lol. So anyways, we explored the museum (it ain't no DC, folks) and covered its grounds in like, 1 hour. Afterwards, we proceeded to go to Chapel St., and found ourselves at the Atticus Bookstore. We decided to sit down and eat. Z also joined us for lunch too, which made it all the more worthwhile. Then we made a study session for the evening too. So anyways, then we went to the Yale British museum of art afterwards. This was definitely the best museum that New Haven has to offer. I even found alien art that intrigued me. So after that, it was time to go back to the apt. Derek and Vanessa watched Next Friday while I took a nap.

So by the time I was finished napping, Z was ready to come pick me up. We acted like nerds on a Saturday night, lol. But it was fun being in his company.

Anyways, it's Sunday night, and all I can think about is that I'm wearing my hair curly tomorrow and the absence of all the flavors in New Haven. Sigh, I miss the diversity of DC and all the multiculturalism. Let's not forget that I am in I/O psych to impact the minorities in the workplace. But I'm quite resourceful, so I'll find what I need, somehow, hehehe. I'll just have to do an internship in NYC, which would probably be advantageous on so many levels anyways.

I'll leave you with the intriguing alien art!
